How can you get rid of bed bugs?

Dec-17-2008 By admin

I work at a youth hostel and get bitten up by bed bugs almost daily. How can I get rid of them or stop them from biting me?

The bedding has to get thrown out. Or anything that has these bugs in them; blankets, pillows, mattress, etc..

I own a rental property and the tenants moved out because of bed bugs. I never had bedbugs before and they kept alot of trash in the property and I had a quarterly pest treatment, I kept the deposit for the expensive treatment and now they are unhappy. I was only notified of bed bugs when they moved out, they also didn’t rid the property of silver fish, roaches when they left as per the lease?

It all depends…
Bed bugs move quickly from place to place if the near by area is infested with bed bugs then you might be responible for the treatment also if it does not state on your lease agreement anything about the pest management then the tenates should take care of the cost.

Becareful next time you lease your place out and be sure to state on the lease agreement issues regarding pest control.

me and my gf are planning to move out of the flat we are in at the momment, we are renting one of the rooms , what would be the best thing to do not to bring the bed bugs to our new home, is it safe to bring things like laptop, tv, electric guitar and computer? do we have to wash our clothes? or do we just put our clothes in a dryer for 20 mins or so? please help us, thank u

Some of these answers are very wrong, or just plain stupid but they still get two points!
Every one has bed mites in their bed. These are harmless and no need to worry about them.
Bed bugs are about 4-6 mm long dark red & suck your blood. Not very nice to have in the house.
Put any electrical goods and other items that cannot be washed into the deep freeze for 48 hours or in the oven at 75 C for 2 hours to kill the bugs. All clothing should be washed or dry cleaned and isolated to prevent re-infestation. Take care with things like old suitcases stored under the bed. If in doubt throw them out.
It may be an idea to cet the local council to come & treat the flat to be extra sure that you do not take the little blighters to your new flat.

I have bed bugs. It has gotten to an overwhelming point though. I can’t sleep for nothing. It got to a point where I had to take sleeping pills to keep me knocked out because I had to get up to work. I tried cleaning the room and spraying down everything with bed bug killer. It stopped for about a week and little by little they popped up again.

I have been though all that. I feel your pain. We tried everything you could ever imagine, fogger stuff, sprays, and exterminators…but those evils always find the way to come back to bite us. Finally we found Bed Bug Powder from the site below, and it worked!! It is organic powder that is safe to humans and pets. I would recommend you using steamcleaner first to kill the existing bed bugs. Heat can kill bed bugs without messing your room up. :)
Then use Bed Bug Powder on your bed. We have not been bitten for at least 2 years since we started using it. Good luck.
