Treat Bed Bugs

Are You Safe From The Bed Bug Bites?

Archive for November, 2008

No, bedbugs are vary hard to get rid of… it is not that simple.

I have been freaking out for the past month or two now about having bed bugs. We were treated and did everything we were told and are now beginning to get the bites again. We thought it may have been dust mites (and still haven’t ruled them out) but now I found a bug FINALLY! It looks like a flea maybe? It definately doesnt look like a bed bug. Its not flat or brown. It looks like a humpback with that long back leg like a flea. But it also looks like it just fed of something cause its ‘hump’ looks like its full of blood. Any thoughts on what it could be if not flea or bed bug? Also our bites dont really look like/follow the pattern of bed bugs. No ‘wheel’ or ‘breakfast lunch dinner’ multi bites. Theyre basically random bites all over. Could it be an allergy? Help please!
Thats what I've thought too but wouldn't finding a flea and never finding a bed bug point more toward the fleas? And do exterminators use the same chemicals to treat fleas as bed bugs?

Its sounds to me as if they are bed bugs..
Have you ever seen a picture? Well I had bed bug problem in my home too and they are really hard to find unless the infestation has grown way too much.

There are some products i found that could be used for both bed bugs and fleas as well. Such as an aerosol spray Bed Lam. Being an aerosol spray and all it has the ability to kill the minute it is sprayed on the pest itself. But you have to consider that fact that it will take some time if not sprayed directly on top of the bug.

Check this site out http://www.pestmall.com/bed-bugs.html they have real videos on bed bug inspections and treatment methods.

and the link to the bed lam product http://www.pestmall.com/beinsptokibe.html

It was very helpful to me so i advise you try too.

Can over the counter foggers kill bed bugs? if so what are the names of the products? and the names of the stores?
Thank You

Yes, but those fogger things can only kill the existing bed bugs. Then they will be back shortly. Trust me!! I have been though all that. We tried everything you could ever imagine, but those evils always find the way to come back to bite us. Finally we found BedBugPowder from the site below, and it worked!! It is organic powder that is safe to humans and pets. Use the foggers first, I would recommend you using steamcleaner better though. Heat can kill bed bugs without messing your room up. :)
Then use BedBugPowder on your bed. We have not been bitten for at least 2 years since we started using it. Good luck.

I was infested with bed bugs and I could see them crawling around. It took some time before we started using serious pest controls to treat the problem because we didn’t even know these bugs existed and were so tough to get rid of. We moved to another apartment in the same neighborhood and mostly me, among 4 adults kept complaining about itchiness. By this time (around 2 years after seeing the bed bugs for the 1st time, and after having used so many products to treat them and not seeing them anymore) I always felt something crawling around my body which some times left tiny welts after scratching. We had a “professional” exterminator take care of the problem, and we wash all clothes. I constantly clean, mop and vacuum, and still have the same welts from time to time or feel itchy, especially my armpits and when sitting at my desk. I have inspected the whole apartment everywhere; beds and all furniture included, with no signs of bugs. What else can it be if not bugs and if it’s really bugs, can the adults survive by eating the small ones(which are really hard to see), and not coming out of their super hidden place? Thank you for any valuable help or advice

Make sure it’s not scabies

Just the thought of bugs on my bed kills me. Can you actually see them? Man I cant even sleep on my bed without thinking of bugs eating at my skin

I never see em’ but its creepy when they say you have like thousands of bugs in your bed

My wife and I are having a problem that she keeps getting bitten by something when we are in bed. But it has not affected me as much as she has. She is about go crazy right now. I asked one of my friend who in the past experienced the same situation and he told me that it would be by bed bugs and I should contact some like pest control professional or something. At this present, I am kinda lost. in fact, I don’t know what to do. Perhaps I should have call the professionals but I kinda doubt it. So I’d like to get some information from you guys first and then I will decide what I am going to do.

Thank you in advance y’all.

Hello there i’m so sorry to hear that this is happening to you. From what you are saying it does sound like bed bugs. The reason it is affecting your wife more is the fact that blood sucking insects are more attracted to the female hormones.

It seems as that you would like to try to control the bed bug problem before you call a professional right??

There are several different methods i’ve tried and i have to say its to your preference on which products and methods you use.

First of all for your mattress i advise you use either a natural product or a non residual product. Because it touches your sick and you sleep on it you do not want anything strong or that is residual and will remain in your bed for a long time. Usually using a spray type is good.

Recommendations:
- Bed Lam- an aerosol spray that can be used all through out the house and mattress.

-Steri Fab- a spray that can be sprayed everywhere also that focus on bed bug kill

-Rest Easy- Is an all natural spray that also comes in a travels size so that you can take it with you when your traveling so that you do not bring home bed bugs from the outside world to your home. It also comes in a cinnamon scent

Second is the dust method. If you look on the side s of the bed mattress there should be little round holes. If you pour a little bit of the dust into the inside of the holes the bed bug will die. The dust can also be used for a long the bed area and underneath the carpet as well. Especially if the bed is lined up against the wall.

- Drione Dust or Mother Earth Dust (use a dusting tool.)

Then covering your mattress and box spring with encasement will prevent and eliminate bed bug and also help with allergy problems and dust mite problems. (ALLER ZIP PROTECT A BED ENCASEMENTS)
