Treat Bed Bugs

Are You Safe From The Bed Bug Bites?

Archive for October, 2008

We have been bitten a lot, but not as much as many of the stories/pictures I’ve seen online. Both of our adjacent neighbors have bed bugs as well. We have been treated and are treating our clothing also. My question is: Do bed bugs travel, bite, and leave? We have yet to find ONE body. We dont have the fecal matter anywhere. We dont have bloodstains on our sheets. But we know theyre coming in. Do they come in from their ‘nest’ next door, bite, and go home? We thought it was possibly dust mites until we talked to the neighbors last night. Any thoughts?

Well, I thought bedbugs were eeny weeny teeny! So, if i’m correct, it’s no wonder u haven’t found any! (if i’m wrong, sorry!)
HOPE you get those bugz!

If you type bedbug in google there are heaps of results… see below for a few examples! I chose a few which had lots of information which i thought looked interesting!
Goodluck.. >(:B) <<theres ur bedbugs!!! lol

Dunno why, I just thought that perhaps bed bugs might hate the smell produced by the different insence sticks. If anyone has them, could they try it for me?

bed bugs also hate bug spray.

Can bed bugs kill you?

I was wondering if they can kill us human`s because from what i heard from my friends they can go into our veins and actually kill us like that. I heard they also contain poison in them.
Please give me some information.

No, they can’t kill you.
Haha.
They just feed off your dead skin cells, they won’t bother you.

How do I kill bed bugs?

We are getting chewed on by bed bugs.
What can we do to kill these things.

I found this a few months ago when our cabin got infested after a trip to new york it worked great for us:

We are having a problem with bedbugs. I read in wikipedia using Diatomaceous earth with some oils kills bed bugs forever. I am planning to buy that DE. Is that a good idea? and by the way we even tried fabric steamer, steaming my bed every for 2 days but no use. Still I am getting some new bites every day. Some one please help me.

So far I found that DE does not really work. I work in a pest control company and I do at least 3 to 4 bed bug jobs a day. So I have alot of experience with bed bugs. The best thing to do is to have a pest control company come in and treat for them. You can though buy some rubbing alcohol but it has to be 70% or greater. Put it in a squirt bottle and that will kill all 3 stages of them on contact. You can also get plastic bed covers which will keep them in there and not let any more get in. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

I dont want to catch bed bugs! I was at a place where i heard about 5 people say they have bed bug so i was wondering if i could catch them just by sitting next to them.

They can travel in clothing but it’s unlikely. You’re more likely to get them on you from sitting on a couch or bed at a place that has them. Bed bugs usually just stay hidden and only come out to feed during the night, they don’t stay on people’s bodies but there is a chance they could get on your clothes.

If you’re worried, you can wash your clothing and bedding on hot. Good luck, they are a real pain to deal with.

Please, has anyone ever heard of painting turpentine or paint thinner onto a wood floor (was finished at one time, now worn away) of an apartment to kill bedbugs?

Would regulations in Queens, NY prohibit the use of flammable liquids such as these? Thx.

Um, I think the bedbugs are in the mattress, not the floor.

You need to call an exterminator. Please do not do home remedies with flammable substances. I've heard of apartments going up in flames and children ending up DEAD because their mothers used gasoline to take lice out of their child's hair, and then fired up the oven to cook their dinner. The fumes exploded.

YES, this would be against fire codes in Queens or anywhere else in the city. So your insurance wouldn't pay in the event of a fire.
