Treat Bed Bugs

I have 2 asthmatic children and I am sensitive to chemicals. My friend came to my house while her unit was being exterminated but she didn't tell me why. I found out later when I began to itch late at night and swell in the morning. Please help!!! This is serious! I have a very clean house. I always have, and I dont know anything about "bed bugs",other than fairy tales! HELP!!!

Try Diatomaceous Earth,it is a non-toxic, natural substance. My mom used to put it in her garden to naturally kill pests. I had a bed bug problem at one time (it has nothing to do with how clean or dirty you live), and I used this product to solve it. I believe it works by absorbing the moisture of the bugs, dehydrating and killing them. Please follow the links or google it for more info.

A side note, it is a powder, and things can get a little dusty if you're not careful. This may be an issue for asthmatic children…

Its a 3 bedroom house with a finish attic.How much could it cost me to have all the room fumigated?

u have to call your local com. to get the exact rates. I would throw out the mattress and get new ones when the process is over..

Please, does a room which has been sprayed for bedbugs have to be left unoccupied and very sparsely furnished for 6 months? Has anyone ever heard of this?

no, that is not true, but you do need to clean daily and vacuum your matress at least twice a week along with spraying will get rid of them. some times the infestation is bad enough you have to replace your bed

i have been getting bites every night for about 2 weeks. i don't think they are from bed bugs because i think i would have seen them by now. i think they might be smaller. i'm looking for a safe alternative to calling in an exterminator.

Put some pieces of scotch tape in the bed and chances are you will catch those bugs and be able to identify them.
Wash the sheets in very hot water with a little bleach,, you may have something like fleas or depending on the area of your body your being bitten in could be crabs, I know that sounds nasty,, but chit happens!
